The Windstream (service provider for this site) hosted Blog has been discontinued.  One factor contributing to this was technical difficulties coupled with mediocre technical support.  Another factor was lack of interest including posting.  That may have been partially due to the tech problems with Blog Builder which was the application used.  It has been observed that blogs, in general, have not attracted the attention of field trialers to the extent anti.....

Strut's Rambling Man, pointer male, owned by Rick Steen and handled by Mike Jordan in Rick's absence, won the Central Alberta Pointer & Setter Club's inaugural Alberta Prairie All Age Classic. Cole had two good finds, that took a penetrating effort in the bluffs, and a strong ground race. Light Rail, pointer female, takes runner up honors. Handled by Shannon Nygard and scouted by her owner, Tom Nygard, she ran a big race that included wonderful handling as well as covering the hunting objectives.....

2009 Northwest Chukar Championship:

Bust N Out, Pointer Male, Owned by Gerald Hignite of Elizabethtown, KY and handled by Rich Robertson Jr won the 2009 Northwest Chukar Championship with an extreme forward race and 4 finds.  Runner up was Silverados Blew Biyou, owned by Glenn Johnson of San Dimas, CA and also handled by Rich Robertson, Jr.  Filling the Judicial saddles were Mark Sheldon of Coos Bay, OR and Larry Floyd of Grandview, WA.

2009 Northwest Chukar Open Shooting Dog Championship

HBV's Cheap Trick, German Shorthaired Pointer Female, Owned and handled by Dr. Doug Favor of Pocatello, ID topped the field in Payette Idaho with 3 great finds, a stop to flush, and a pleasing searching race.  Gary Steven of Caldwell, ID and Darren Hintze of Ivins, UT filled the Judicial saddles.  No runner up was named.


2009-2010 National Amateur Chukar Shooting Dog Championship.

The weather during the John S. Gates Derby and the Pelican trials was very hot. They continued to have an abundance of birds.
Judges were Mike Cheely of Fayetteville, GA., and William Smith of Moscow, TN.

Manitoba Championship

Drew 26 dogs, started Monday, Sept 14 and concluded Sept 16

Judges: Mike Cheely and William Smith

Conditions were hot and humid. Many good performances were seen with an abundance of birds pointed and moved through the trial.

Winner: Patriote, owned by Nolan Leadbetter and handled by Colvin Davis.

R-U Winner: Quicksilver Becrux, owned by Rick Stallings and handled by Colvin Davis.

Patriote won with a tremendous prairie g.....

Phil Brousseau, one of the great pure dog lovers of our times, dies peacefully at his home in Edgefield, S.C.
He was 98. It was his birthday. He was born in 1911.
I have already written all I can about my dear friend and confidante.  He dismissed his family's jewelry business to go afield, to fish and hunt and train beagles and pointers of great distinction.

Phil and his wife Phyllis, who pre deceased him, willed their remains to the Medical College of Georgia in Au.....

Dear ASDA supporter:

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I must announce that John Yates, founder and Executive Director of American Sporting Dog Alliance, Passed away on Tuesday, September 15th, during cancer surgery. He had been battling this dreadful disease for eight months.

He had always been an outspoken, fearless and eloquent supporter of human rights and personal freedom. Once he decided to fight for an issue he deemed worthwhile, he held on tight and refu.....
